Fertility Analysis at Cada

The analysis includes 50 biomarkers in the blood, 17 sperm parameters and a gynaecological ultrasound examination. All tests are evaluated in our clinic, in close cooperation between gynaecologists, laboratory specialists and reproductive medicine specialists.

Good to know: Based on your results, our doctors will create a statistical classification of your fertility, taking into account age, hormone status and other individual factors. This will give you a realistic assessment of your initial situation and a clear recommendation for the next steps.

Why should you test your fertility?

There are various reasons why a couple may be unable to conceive. A comprehensive fertility analysis provides clarity and forms the basis for targeted treatment.

Identifying medical causes

Hormonal imbalances, thyroid problems or poor sperm quality often go unnoticed for a long time. Early diagnosis can reveal these causes and enable targeted treatment.

icon

Assess your starting position realistically

Based on your results and your age, our doctors will statistically classify your fertility. This will let you know where you stand and what options are available to you.

icon

Take the right steps at an early stage

Fertility declines steadily with age, especially in women. The earlier a diagnosis is made, the more treatment options are available and the higher the chances of success.

Dr. med. Dirk Wallmeier

Why is early diagnosis so important?

Fertility in women declines steadily from the early 30s onwards. With each passing year, the chances of a natural pregnancy decrease and the risk of miscarriage increases. However, sperm quality can also be impaired in men without any symptoms being present. The earlier we make a sound diagnosis, the more targeted our treatment can be and the higher your chances of success.

An unfulfilled desire to have children, many possible causes

In most cases, it is not due to a single trigger, but rather a combination of various factors. Comprehensive diagnostics for both partners is therefore crucial.

icon

Age and egg quality of the woman

From the early 30s onwards, egg quality and egg reserve decline continuously. This is the most common cause of infertility and can only be reliably assessed through targeted fertility analysis.

icon

Male sperm quality

In around 40% of all couples who are unable to conceive, the cause lies wholly or partly with the man. Sperm count, motility and quality decline with age, often without noticeable symptoms.

icon

Hormonal and physical factors

Hormonal imbalances, thyroid problems, endometriosis or nutritional deficiencies can further impair the fertility of both partners. Many of these causes remain undetected without specific diagnostics.

icon

50 biomarkers provide information about hormone status, thyroid values, nutrient supply, coagulation factors and infection status of both partners.

icon

Sperm analysis

17 sperm parameters are analysed to comprehensively assess the number, motility and quality of the sperm.

The Anti-Müllerian Hormone

The AMH value as part of your fertility analysis

Image

The AMH value is an important marker of female fertility. It helps us to assess how many eggs are still available and what the next steps should be. The value decreases with age and is an integral part of every fertility analysis at Cada.

What’s the next step?

Once your results are available, your doctor will explain the available treatment options to you in detail. And once you've made a decision together, you can start your treatment.

icon

IVF

In cases of limited fertility, IVF and ICSI offer the highest chances of success. Which procedure is right for you depends, among other things, on sperm quality.

icon

Genetic diagnosis (PGT)

Genetic testing of embryos can increase the chances of a successful pregnancy and reduce the risk of miscarriage.

icon

Social Freezing

If you would like to give yourselves more time to plan your family, eggs can be frozen and stored for later treatment.

Desire to have children over 40

Why the time factor is crucial

Image

From the age of 40 onwards, the chances of success for all treatments decrease significantly. The reason for this is that both the number and quality of eggs decline with age. At this age in particular, it is especially important to seek clarification quickly so that no valuable time is lost.

IVF/ICSI offers you the best chances in this situation. In combination with pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT), the chances of a successful pregnancy can be further increased and the risk of miscarriage reduced.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Discover answers to the most common queries about our fertility analysis here. Should your question remain unresolved, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.

How long will it take to receive the results?

Icon

The results of your fertility analysis are usually available within 7 days. Our doctors will then discuss the results with you in a personal consultation and give you clear recommendations for the next steps.

How much does a fertility analysis at Cada cost?

Icon

The consultation at Cada is free of charge. The cost of the fertility analysis is CHF 950 for women and CHF 680 for men. These costs are usually reimbursed by health insurance.

Is the man being examined too?

Icon

Yes, in around 40% of all couples with unfulfilled desires to have children, the cause lies wholly or partly with the man. We therefore generally recommend that both partners undergo testing. The analysis for the man comprises a blood and hormone analysis and a sperm examination.

How does age affect fertility?

Icon

In women, egg quality and egg reserve decline steadily from the early 30s onwards. From the age of 40, the chances of success for all treatments decrease significantly. In men, sperm quality also declines with age. Early diagnosis helps to take the right steps in good time.

What is examined during an ultrasound examination?

Icon

Our doctors use ultrasound to assess the uterus, ovaries, and the number of follicles present. The examination provides information about possible structural causes such as fibroids, cysts, or abnormalities in the ovaries. In addition, the egg reserve can be assessed, which is crucial for further treatment planning.

What is tested during a blood analysis?

Icon

The blood analysis includes hormone status, thyroid values, nutrient supply, coagulation factors, and infection status, among other things. Many causes of infertility—such as hormonal imbalances or thyroid problems—can only be detected through a blood test. In combination with an ultrasound, this provides a comprehensive picture of your fertility.

What is examined in a semen analysis?

Icon

The semen analysis examines 17 parameters, including sperm count, motility, and quality. Since in around 40% of all couples the cause lies wholly or partly with the man, this examination is an integral part of every fertility analysis at Cada. Important: Sperm quality issues often occur without symptoms and can only be detected through a specific analysis.

What is the AMH level and why is it tested?

Icon

The AMH level indicates how many eggs are still available. It is one of the most important indicators of female fertility and decreases continuously with age. The level helps our doctors assess which treatment options are realistic and whether it is advisable to start treatment soon. At Cada, the AMH level is an integral part of every fertility analysis.

What happens when a cause is found?

Icon

Based on your diagnosis, our doctors will draw up an individual treatment plan. Depending on your situation, there are various options available, from IVF or ICSI to social freezing and genetic diagnosis (PGT). We will discuss which treatment is best for you in a personal consultation.
